Trudi Carey
President
Trudi Carey is the president of The Carey Group, Inc. and is a licensed architect, general contractor and real estate broker. Ms. Carey graduated from the School of Architecture and Environmental Design at California Polytechnic State University at San Luis Obispo with highest honors and previously served on the department’s advisory board. Ms. Carey is currently a board member of the Scholarship Foundation of Santa Barbara and serves on their investment committee. She is a past director of publicly-traded Midstate Bank and Trust, acquired by Rabobank and served on Rabobank’s advisory board for Santa Barbara and Ventura Counties.
Gayle Rodriguez
Exec. Director of Operations
Gayle Rodriguez is the Executive Director of Operations for The Carey Group. A graduate of UCSB, she joined The Carey Group in 1991. Balancing financial results and client service, Mrs. Rodriguez sets the highest bar for professionalism for all employees while ensuring the warmth and family values for which The Carey Group is known.
Nathan Carey
Construction Department
Nathan Carey coordinates the construction department for The Carey Group. A native of Santa Barbara, Mr. Carey attended California Polytechnic State University at San Luis Obispo, where he majored in Construction Management. Mr. Carey was involved in the construction of the Stacy Lane Homes, Patterson 101 Self-Storage, Patterson Plus Self-Storage and Camino Campana and Whiterose Lane subdivisions.
Jane Jewell
Director of Self-Storage
Jane Jewell is the Director of Self-Storage for The Carey Group. A native of Santa Ynez Valley, Ms. Jewell began her career with The Carey Group as the Assistant Manager at the opening of Patterson/ 101 Self-Storage in 1999. Shortly after, she became Manager of Buellton Allstore Self-Storage and then rose to Director of Self-Storage for all self-storage properties. In addition, she assisted The Carey Group with the design and development of Patterson Plus Self-Storage and Santa Barbara Wine Storage. Ms. Jewell is respected and appreciated by those she works with and has numerous customer service awards and accolades. Under her management, The Carey Group has become a national self-storage industry leader.
Robert Odale
In Honor and Memory
Bob Odale first joined The Carey Group in 1986 as the head of construction. He completed numerous Carey Group projects including Nathan Road homes, Clearview Estates, Clearview Phase II, Puerta Del Mar Condominiums, Buellton Self-Storage, El Encanto Hotel Remodel, First American Title’s Santa Barbara County Offices, Patterson 101 Self-Storage, Stacy Lane Homes, Patterson Plus Self-Storage, and the Camino Campana luxury homes.
Bob’s sense of humor, outstanding construction expertise, fairness, and problem-solving abilities are recognized by subcontractors, homeowners, local building inspectors, and especially by The Carey Group. Bob passed away in 2019, and we miss him every day.
Grace Alan-Lee
Project Manager
Grace is the Project Manager for The Carey Group and associated entities. She graduated from UCSB with a degree in Communications and worked on residential and commercial projects in Los Angeles for the last several years.
